We visited Epcot today. It was the park we all thought would be the most boring and so we saved it for a "short" day when the parks aren't open as late on weekdays. However, it turned out to be one of the best parks we went to all week.
They have Soarin' there-the hanglider ride that puts you in the air over California. I think it is one of the most relaxing rides out there. And the Test Track, where you test a car-brake test, bumpy road test and then go for a spin around the track at top speeds--ours hit 64.7 mph. It was a lot of fun although the pic doesn't show it too well. We can't figure out where the camera was because we all look a little sedate. We'll have to try it again to see if we can get a better shot.
I think the best ride there was called Mission: Space. You ride in a rocket to Mars. The G-forces that thing can hit is amazing--at launch, it is hard to move your hands forward to the controls. And, best of all, it has all these switches and buttons and things that light up so you feel completely immersed in the game. I think the crew members were laughing at us because we would climb in and immediately start playing. I know we could be heard shouting out "We are switching to oxygen" and "We are ready to launch" We all did nothing but flip switches and call out whatever phrase we have ever heard from any movie or tv show, interspersed by screams and shouts when we hit a really good spot. While the crew members never actually laughed at us when we climbed out of the ride, they sure looked at us alot and smiled. We went on this ride 4 times. Even the girls were a little disoriented after the last one.
Marf had to step away from the keyboard, so she'll finish this post later
