DisneyWorld Trip day 1

Well we made it here, and our condo is amazing! It actually lived up to the online pics and comments we read about. It has a very serious nautical theme, and Linda is in our thoughts as we sit here, knowing that she would have loved it.

One comment on the flight down from Denver (I lost all the Indian Poker games BTW); it just so happens that 18 years ago almost to the day I came down here on a trip with my family to DisneyWorld then up the coast to Alabama where we saw Patrick graduate from AIT in the Army. During that trip we almost saw the space shuttle during one of it's launches; we went out to the Cape only to find out that the flight had been canceled due to weather. Well as we were flying into Florida we were watching the news (Frontier Airlines is the best - directTV at each seat) and there was a launch scheduled. It came down to the wire as to whether the weather was going to cause problems again, but this time the launch wasn't delayed...and we just missed it! The pilot was trying to orient the plane so that we could see the launch, but a wall of clouds got in the way. Apparently the flight deck got an amazing view as the shuttle rocketed into space about 60 miles away from us. Double damn. Well, maybe we'll come back in another 18 years and I'll have another chance :P

Not much else to report about the first day. We have a full kitchen, so we went getto grocery shopping (there is a Walmart just down the street). We just about stole the cart so that we wouldn't have to carry everything back, but we just couldn't do it. So we walked back with walmart bags dangling all over us..a memory to cherish :)

Once I figure out how to post pictures to the blog, I'll put up some pics of the day, of the condo, and of the girls swimming.

We are do excited for you. We had heard that you were going. I just didn't know when. How fun.

Maybe we can plan a family trip for 18 years and then we could maybe have the luck to see the Shuttle. You are a little bit closer than before.

We are all excited to hear about your days of fun in the sun.

Love you all,
